ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical significance of the combined defection of carcino-embryonic antigen (CEA),cytokeratin19fragment (CYFRA21-1), neuron-specific enolase (NSE), human fibrinogen (Fbg) and D-dimer (D-D) for lung cancer patients.MothodsThe levels of serum CEA, CYFRA21-1and NSE were detected by electrochemiluminescence immunoassy in60lung cancer patients,55patients with benign lung diseases and58healthy subjects. The levels of Fbg were detected by chemical luminesece measurement. The levels of D-D were detected by immuno-nephelometry. The relationship of CEA, CYFRA21-1, NSE, Fbg and D-D levels in lung cancer was analyzed by statistics.ResultsThe levels of CEA, CYFRA21-1, NSE, Fbg and D-D in patients with lung cancer were significantly higher than those in patients with benign lung diseases and those in healthy controls (P<0.01). The patients with lung squamous cell carcinoma had the highest level of CYFRA21-1, the patients with lung adenocarcinoma had the highest level of CEA, and the patients with small cell lung cancer had the highest level of NSE. Compared with other lung cancer groups, there was statistical significance (P<0.05).The sensitivity of the single parameter in the diagnosis of lung cancer was: CEA showed the highest sensitivity (79.2%) in adenocarcinoma, CYFRA21-1showed the highest sensitivity (78.6%) in squamous cell carcinoma, and NSE showed the highest sensitivity (75%) in small cell lung cancer. The combined determination of CEA, CYFRA21-1, NSE, Fbg and D-D might significantly improve the sensitivity (91.6%) and accuracy (93.1%) for the diagnosis of lung cancer. CEA, CYFRA21-1, NSE, Fbg and D-D were positively related to the clinical stages of lung cancer. Levels in Ⅲ/Ⅳstage were significantly higher than those in Ⅰ/Ⅱ stage.ConclusionsCombined defection of CEA, CYFRA21-1, NSE, Fbg and D-D might has important clinical significance in the clinical diagnosis, differential diagnosis, condition monitoring and clinical stage of lung cancer.
