In May 12, 2008, the most severe earthquake that registered 8.0 on the Richter scale had strike in district of Wenchuan. And an earthquake that registered 7.1 on the Richter scale occurred in Yushu region in April 14, 2010. Most rescues had never seen such a disastrous scene. It is inevitably that they would experience severe psychological trauma, even serious psychological stress afterwards, especially for the medical rescues. There is no need to say that they have enormous medical and rescue mission, they have to be under pressure when confronting ongoing aftershock and complicated aid environment, and then can lead to all kinds of psychological stress reaction. In this study, 164 species from medical rescue team in Xijing hospital of The Fourth Military Medical University were chosen randomly, they all had engaged in Wenchuan and Yushu earthquake. Interviews had been conducted through questionnaires and conversations to study the correlations between self-efficacy, state-trait anxiety, coping style and acute stress reaction in stress conditions. The aim of this study is to find out the incidence of the acute stress disorder in medical rescues in the earthquake, the main symptoms and influencing factors, and provide a scientific ground for future medical rescue works and prevention and treatment of mental disorders. The study leads to the following conclusions:1) There were significant negative correlation between self-efficacy, and state-anxiety, trait anxiety, and significant negative correlation between self-efficacy and coping styles.2) Compared with the scores military norm, resolving problem and seeking help of the positive coping style(p<0.05)increased but other 4 factors of the negative coping style decreased. According to these results, the medical rescues had almost used the mature coping behavior and their mental health was good.3) There were significant positive correlation between self-blame, fantasy, retreat, Rationalization and state-anxiety, and resolving problem and seeking help has no significant correlation with state-anxiety.4) There were various stress reactions in earthquake medical rescues.
