Objective: To test the anxiety situation of medical students, to explore the effect of self-efficacy and coping styles to medical students' test anxiety, and to provide some countermeasure to medical students' test anxiety through the survey. Methods: To adopt the convenience sampling method, selected college students questionnaires from a university of medicine in Henan province. The total of 350 questionnaires were distributed, and returned 323 questionnaires. Results:(1) Test anxiety. Overall, the medical students' anxious generally at a moderate level(57.67%), some students at the high levels of anxiety(18.33%); on a variable of gender, girls' scores of test anxiety were significantly higher than boys(P<0.018); there was no significant differences on urban-rural variable; on grade variable, medical students test anxiety scores were significantly different(P<0.01), specifically, sophomore was significantly higher than freshman and senior, junior was significantly higher than senior.(2) General self-efficacy. There was no significant difference on gender and grade variables; on urban and rural areas variable, the general self-efficacy of city medical students was significantly higher than medical students in rural(P<0.05).(3) Coping. Gender, urban and rural areas and grade, these three variables only on the factor of "help" had significantly difference, specifically, on the factor of "help", girls' scores were significantly higher than boys(P<0.05); medical students' scores in the city were significantly higher than in rural medical students(P<0.05); freshman on the assistance factor scores significantly higher than the sophomores, juniors, seniors(P <0.05).(4)The relationship between self-efficacy and test anxiety. Medical Students' self-efficacy and test anxiety was a significant negative correlation(P<0.01), and self-efficacy to test anxiety has better predict.(5)The relationship between coping and test anxiety. Self-blame, illusion and retreat, these three factors and test anxiety was a significant positive correlation(P<0.01, P<0.05), solve problems and test anxiety was a significant negative correlation, and problem-solving, self-blame and retreat had a good predict to test anxiety. Conclusions:(1) The test anxiety of medical students at normal levels in general; compared to boys, the girls existed more severe test anxiety; the sophomore and junior medical students' test anxiety worse.(2)The medical students from cities had higher self-efficacy than those medical students from rural.(3)The medical professionals girls compared to boys,urban students compared to rural students, freshman students compared to other more inclined to take the help of coping.(4)The higher self-efficacy of medical students, the lower of the test anxiety level.(5)To take the coping style of solving the problem can reduce test anxiety, while taking the coping style of self-blame and retreated, the test anxiety would increase.
