On The Differences Of The Prepositional Phrase Between The Artistic Style And The Official Document Style

Taking600,000characters languages material as the foundation, by the way of quantitativeand qualitative analysis, this Paper researches the differences of the prepositional phrase in thefrequency of use, statistical length, structure, grammatical sense, grammatical function, discoursefunction and rhetoric distribution between the artistic style and official document style. Byanalyzing the difference, this Paper draws the following conclusions:In the aspect of the frequency of use, the number of prepositional phrase of the artistic stylemore than in official document style. In the aspect of the length distribution, the longprepositional phrases in artistic style less than in official document style. In the aspect of thestructure, prepositional phrase in official document style than in artistic style complex. In theaspect of the semantic relation, Prepositional phrase with the center of the semantic relations inthe artistic style mainly environment relation, the document official style mainly depend relation.In the aspect of the grammatical function, the prepositional phrase in artistic style show morevariations, and there are more conventional using in official document style. In the aspect ofdiscourse function, the prepositional phrase in artistic style is mainly reflected the convergencefunction, the prepositional phrase in document official style mainly reflected the tube functionaland standard features. In the aspect of the rhetoric distribution, the kinds and quantities of therhetoric of prepositional phrase in artistic style are use more than in document official style, andits frequency in artistic style is higher than in document official style.This Paper holds that the prepositional phrase have many obvious differences between theartistic style and the document official style. This mainly relates to the context type, the featuresof the two styles and the grammatical features of the prepositional phrase.
