Communication of East and West. It is an important place for the Silk Road.Folk handicraft is the main expression of the material civilization of ethnics. It playsan important role in the daily life and customs. Uighur folk printed cloth is one of themost featured folk handicrafts culture. And the research for printed cloth is good forunderstanding the Uighur culture and Aesthetic orientation. Furthermore, it can havefurther cognition of traditional handicraft. So it is very important to research thetraditional printed cloth.The thesis has a comprehensive study for the Uighur traditional printed cloth bysurvey and data collection. And use relative pictures and documents to research.The thesis covers the following aspects: First, sum up the background, includingthe environment, history and archaeological excavation; Second, analyze the mostfeatured Printing process and decorative features; Third, relative cultural factors;Fourth, Inheritance and protection of printed cloth.According to the research:(1) In the special natural environment and history,different Aesthetic characteristics come into being that is differ from other areas andethnics and play an important role in the Silk Road.(2) The Uighur traditional crafthas different varieties and distinctive characteristics. It has unique style fromdevelopment and use over a long period of time which is different from other ethnictechnology and becomes a mark.(3) In the modern industrial environment, thetraditional craft is being marginalized and alienated. And its market share graduallydecreases. So it is extremely urgent to protect the folk arts.
