| There experiencing a long history in the Three Kingdoms Culture，With the storieson Three Kingdoms Culture constant recomposing,deducing,which ultimately havebecome to a peculiar kind of folk culture. The historian went to record this period ofhistory with a matter-of-fact attitude, they made their efforts to guarantee the authenticcity. Based on the history, the historian tried to create and perfectly present the plot andportrait, while the common people tried their best to create their imagination to extend.However, they have become an important part in the recomposed group, because someof them love their own hometown, some of them carry on the Three Kingdoms Culture,some of them worship their own hero, all above which can play a necessary role andmake the period of history became all sorts of stories.Dangyang, my hometown, kingdom in the ancient and then belonged to Chu,which has more than two thousand seven hundred years.It was battlefield onethousand seven hundred years ago. In The romance of the Three Kingdoms, there aresixteen chapters mentioning Dang yang, Changban, Mai city and Yuquan mountain.there are ten poems praising Zhao Yun, Zhang Fei and the war of DangyangNagasaka.So the inhabitant have a special emotion towards the Three Kingdom history,and they depict the stories.The three kingdoms story occured here is different from the history both in theplot and characterization. the changes of the plot are prominently expressed in threefamous stories: one is Zhaozilong saved the master in the war of Changban Slope; thesecond is Zhangyide havocked in Dangyang Bridge, repel the army of Cao alone; thethird is Guanyunchang and his son were defeated at the city of Mai, both father andson were sacrificed.repelled these three wars are less than the Battle of Guandu, theBattle of Red Cliff, the Battle of Yiling on the scale and time, they also the wars ofcrossing, horse of war and Defensive retreat of the war, but these three wars are allheroes fight. Through the comparison of the history, novel and folk version on thesethree wars, it can be seen that folk version are based on history and novel. On this basis,in order to comply with local endemic and landscapes, folk version have made someappropriate adaptation of the plot, and add generous layout and description on thecourse of the war, which greatly enriched and improved the plot of the story.Dang Yang is not only the place which owns Guan Ling Temple—one of three Guan Temples in the world, but also the place which has vision after Guan Yu’s deathin the work named the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Therefore, stories about GuanYu have been going round widely among local people and the characters of Guan Yuare adapted thousands of times. In Dangyang’s folklores, Guan Yu was deified step bystep. The folk legends can be roughly divided into three areas as following: the birth ofGuan Gong, manifestation of Guan Gong and scenery legends. From these folk legendswe can see that the process of adapting the Character of Guan Yu from the historical tothe novel and then to Dang Yang’s folklores is a complete transformation from a manto a God. These legends not only highlight the collective wisdom of local people butalso demonstrates a sense of pride as a country-fellow.Searching for the reasons which may cause these changes, the author mainlycarried on the analysis from three aspects: firstly, Local officials weave the stories ofthe Three Kingdoms. The economic interest is the motion of promoting and developingthe stories of the Three Kingdoms among local officials. Secondly, local intellectualsweave the stories of the Three Kingdoms. Some cultural elites process and reorganizethese original folk legends and turn them into a standardized, formal and propagandamaterial for the local government. So explanations by the cultural elites were situatedbetween the academic statement and the local knowledge. Thirdly, ordinary citizensweave the stories of the Three Kingdoms. Due to their unique folk narrative angle ofview, aesthetic taste, worship of gods and the psychological dependence, they makethese stories more emotional, popular and close to our lives gradually. In short, whetherthe local people, officials or intellectuals, they all contribute to spreading anddeveloping the stories of Three Kingdom. Whether for developing the economy orpromoting the culture, they all show their deep love of hometown. |
