Aiwei is one of outstanding representatives of new generation writers.Recently, his works has been getting extensive increasing academic attention, andmore and more researchers begin to concern about the humanity theme, thenarrative art, the aesthetic style in the perspective of literature. However, there areseldom scholars have explained his works from the view of linguistic.This thesis aims to give a systematical and thoroughly analysis on thelanguage features and the genesis of language style in Aiwei’s works fromlinguistic perspectives.The whole paper is divided into five chapters:Chapter One is the preface. It will give a brief introduction about Aiwei andhis novels. Then, an overview of theoretical background, research method and thesignificance of the study are provided.Chapter Two is a research on the vividness of the language in Aiwei’s novels,which refers to the refinement of verbs, adjectives, onomatopoetic words, thechoice of the proverbs, sayings, two-part allegorical sayings and the utilization ofthe metaphor, parallelism, personification, metonymy and jump.Chapter Three is the discussion about musicality of language in Aiwei’sworks. The focuses will be played on the aesthetics of repeating, overlapping,equilibrium, complication, cadence and circumlocution.Chapter Four is responsible for the detail explanation of language variation.Aiwei is good at making use of supernormal collocations, European longsentences and flip sentences, which form a special beauty of the language variation.Chapter Five is the demonstration of the genesis and cause of language stylefrom the aspect of express subject, accepting object, express object and contextualguidance. As we know, Aiwei was born in the1960s in the rural area of northernJiangsu province. His distinctive memory of childhood, the rich life experience,the unique creative thought and aesthetic pursuit all influenced his language style.Meanwhile, the needs of the express object, the quality of readers, the socialenvironment etc. also have a closely relationship with the formation of his style.
