With the development of society, our vocabulary system changed alot, producing a lot of new words. These new words which are of greatsignificance for foreign students learning Chinese penetrated into allaspects of our daily life, and plays an important role in Teaching Chineseas a Foreign Language, we should pay enough attention to it. However,compared with grammar research, the research of Teaching is laggingbehind. Through the survey (intermediate level students’ interest inlearning), we get the result that it’s necessary for teachers to teach newwords timely in the class. The author gave some personal advice on howto choose the words, how to design the class and how to consolidate. Inthe end, we got the learning information through the absorption andsatisfaction survey and obtained lessons which got from personal teachingexperience, hoping that would be helpful for Chinese teaching.According to the survey, we found that the senior students holdstrong interest in learning new words. They hope expand vocabulary andget a better understanding of contemporary China. The feedback questionnaire showed that the students got a betterabsorption of new words and were satisfied with the study.They couldlearn new words efficiently in a relaxed and happy attitude. On the basisof teaching experience, we also got some overall principles and reflectionson how to teach new words to the intermediate level students, hoping thatwe could do something helpful for the future teaching.
