On The Fan Fictions Of The Dream Of Red Mansions

The Dream of Red Mansions is one of the four great classics of China. It is athoughtful and artistic work. After the publishing of the Post Dream of Red Mansionswhich was signed by Xiao Yaozi, many writers started to write the stories which werelost. In the past, the academic circle used to use sequel、replication to name them. Thispaper decides to use the concept of fan fictions. Till now, as the development of theInternet, the types of the fan fictions of the Dream of Red Mansions are more and morevarious.Because of the artistic charm of the Dream of Red Mansions, a large amount ofthe fan fictions of the Dream of Red Mansions are created. Just like the writers whoenjoy writing the lost stories in Qing Dynasty, the fan fiction writers feel very sorrywhen they find the work is not finished. So they decide to create an ideal Grand ViewGarden, or choose one or more character to write new stories. At the same time,there’re also the other reasons, such as the tradition of writing sequels, making TVseries of the Dream of Red Mansions from1990s, the motivating of the commercialprofits, the popular of the internet literature and the parody literature.Recently, there are a lot of works on the fan fictions of the Dream of RedMansions in Qing Dynasty and few works on the fan fictions of the Dream of RedMansions in Internet. The first part of the paper studies how to name this part ofnovels,there are several ways such as Sequel、Replication、Shehong novel、fan fictionsand so on. Considering the contents and the forms of the novels, I prefer to use fanfictions. The second part of the paper is a summary of the creation of the fan fictions ofthe Dream of Red Mansions, which allows us to understand the history of the fanfictions of the Dream of Red Mansions from a broad grasp on their development. Thethird part selected some fan fictions of the Dream of Red Mansions, trying to getreaders to understand the writing techniques、writing forms and the contents. And thelast part focuses on the significance of the fan fictions of the Dream of Red Mansions.
