The Dream of Red Mansion is the summit of Chinese antiquity novels, and a large number of Sequels appear after it comes into being. The sequels of The Dream of Red Mansion represent a certain phenomenon of Chinese antiquity novel with its volume regarded as the largest one. This paper, divided into two parts, studies its sequel mainly from the perspective of the text. The first part elaborates the amounts and versions of the sequel, and the cause of sequel through the survey of the sequel. The second part mainly reveals people's outlooks and social ideologies from the perspectives of the plot mode, changes of characters' images and the characteristics of era in sequel written by Mr. Cheng, the representative sequel of The Dream of Red Mansion. Generally speaking, the sequels can not be compared with the original one. However, by researching on those sequels, much regularity can be found from its origins and developments. All these regularity not only contribute a lot to the novel history and the development of novel theory, but also benefit to present literature writing.
