Nowadays, the proportion of female university students is increasing. Theeducational problem of female students caused widespread concern in the educationsector. How can we mobilize the enthusiasm of the female students’ growth, to developtheir good mental qualities and professional competence, enabling them to better adaptto the needs of social development and, ultimately, a better prospect of their owndevelopment, is a heavy and difficult issue for college educators.This article selects the perspective of female college students’ mental health,covering the life events of female college students. The research was surveyed inWuhan by using psychological pressure of college life stress questionnaire, trying tounderstand the frequency of occurrence of the most stressful events in the lives offemale students and the extent of the subjective feeling of pressure, to master thepressure of female university students in the different variables. The questionnaireincludes four variables: male or female, four grades, majors, and the only-child or not.The survey is in order to improve the mental health of female students and improve theeducation of college mental health field.The findings show that:1. Stressful life events occur in a high frequency amongWuhan Female College Students. Homesickness is the highest events among all thestressful events;2.The overall pressure feelings of female students level in the "lighter"and "moderate", indicating that the stressful events in the lives of female students didnot give a heavy psychological burden to female students, but there are still someproblems;3. Female students’ overall feeling of pressure is lower than boys, but someparts are higher than boys especially in the family relationship, self-physically andmentally level and future development field. The gender differences in body and mind issignificant (P=0.003);4. The difference between Female students from rural and urbanwas not significant in stress levels;5. The difference among different grades of femalestudents at overall stress levels was not significant, but the senior, freshman, sophomoregirls were significantly different in the family relationship dimensions (P=0.022).Sophomore, junior and senior girls were significant differences (P=0.007) inpunishment and the failure dimension;6.The difference of Female students was notsignificant at different professional pressure level;7.The difference was not significant at the only child or non-only-child level.Based on survey results, the study proposes some countermeasures and suggestionsfrom the subjective and objective ways in mental health education field for femaleuniversity students:1.What should College do:①to strengthen the mental healtheducation for female students, to establish an effective psychological defensesystem;②strengthening campus cultural construction, and establish a positivepsychological atmosphere;③emphasis on neonatal adaptation and academic problemsof female students;④strengthen employment guidance for female students, alleviate thepressure on the employment of female university students.2.What should femalestudents do:①improve self-awareness, correct and adjust self-evaluation;②learn someskills of emotional self-regulation;③establish good interpersonal relationships forgetting more social support.
