Documentary and feature film are two basic morphologies of film. but the variouslimitations of documentary lead it to very different situation in the film and televisionindustry compared with feature film. However, documentary, with various limitations,enjoys quite different situation in film and TV industry, compared with feature film.Actually, some film directors started their careers by making documentary but finallyabandoned it and then shifted to creation of feature film. While some film makers aretrying to break the boundaries of documentary and feature films, and make innovationswhen they realized the respective characteristic advantages of documentary and featurefilm. As a result, documentary with story-oriented tendency and feature film withrecord-oriented tendency are two trends in current film and TV development.
