This paper is a general study of factual documentary film theory. It is bases on the creation of the Chinese New Documentary Film since the 1990's. In this paper, the Chinese New Documentary Film prefers to both the Independent Documentary Film and the TV Documentary. Propose of this paper is trying to find the changing concept of the actualities in the Chinese New Documentary Film. It will analyze the aesthetics features and the theory origins of factual documentary film theory. And in the end the author draws a conclusion. Trend of mass culture, hi-techniques and the transformation of the Chinese society draws the factual features comes back to the Chinese New Documentary.
