Johannes Brahms was an important composers of the Romantic period in Germany, Austria and his works cover a wide range of creative fields has yielded fruitful results. In the era that Romantic artists sought the performance of the content and techniques of innovation, the popular classical period symphonies, concertos makes the largest part of his creations., which mainly inherited classical art genre, structure and texture practices. He is usually positioned as the last classical masters of the German and Austrian in the history of music. "Second Symphony" (op.73) was completed in the mature period of the creation of Brahms, which is the only symphony a cheerful, clear tranquil and idyllic symphony of the four, makes an important position in the symphonic works of Brahms.The theme motive in atonal music writing period is the primary means of understanding works outline. Therefore, Brahms’ Second Symphony is take as the object of study in this work, which also makes the throughout development of the theme of motivation as the analysis of entry points, in order to demonstrate the unity factor reflected in the whole work from the theme motive of the Second Symphony.This works are divided into three chapters, which is Introduction, body, conclusion.In the first chapter, we briefly introduces the composer’s life and the creation of the "Second Symphony" background; The second chapter begins with an overview of the concept of theme motives, followed by the material of the core theme motive of the "Second Symphony" and the analyze of the connection with the other themes; In the third chapter, it is analysis and summarized of the use of the core theme motive coherent techniques and coherent way in the works, and reflects the theme motive is how throughout the whole work into.
