A Study On The Application Of Mongolian Traditional Patterns To The Modern Furniture With Mongolian Style

Mongolian traditional pattern, an important part of Mongolian traditional culture, is a kind of visual art form which shows Mongolian spiritual outlook, thoughts and feelings. The unique artistic pattern is created by Mongolian people for the purpose of beautifying their lives and also to manifest the wisdom and aesthetic taste of the people better.The innovative research on the modern Mongolian-style furniture is a new subject in the field of modern art and design. Taking the application of the traditional Mongolian pattern to the modern Mongolian furniture as the research object, the paper is to provide feasible factors for the organic combination of Mongolian pattern and the Modern Mongolian-style furniture by studying the lines, patterns, designs, shapes, colors, composition forms and symbolism of the mature traditional Mongolian pattern and also by analyzing the characteristics of easy accessibility, light portability and simple design of traditional Mongolian furniture. The research not only has some significance to the prosperity of the ethnic culture but also provides new materials for the further study in the relevant area.In this paper, the modern Mongolian furniture is designed and modified based on the collection, sorting, classification, researching, summarizing and combination of the characteristics, structures and form of Mongolian patterns. The modern furniture with Mongolian style is formed in the way of merging the unique ethnic elements and cultural carrier. The furniture also can meet the material and spiritual needs of the people in terms of its function. Having grown up in rich ethnic culture of the beautiful grassland in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the author has cultivated not only a deeply profound love towards the grassland and but also better understanding of the folk culture, and which drives me to the completion of the paper.
