Nowadays, globalization is in fact exerts great in politic, economics and culture. As theacceleration of the globalization, the cultural communication between different nations becomesmore and more, meanwhile, the cultural frictions also increase. In this process, the westerncountries not only take the opportunity to implement cultural imperialism, cultural penetration, butalso promote its values to other countries, this kind of cultural invasion brings threats to othercountries which may weaken other countries’ national culture identity, impact their culturalindustries, and hinder their normal cultural exchange from different levels of ideology, popularculture. At the same time, as the level of China’s openning-up enhanced, globalization bringsopportunities and challenges to China. In one hand, it provides us a chance to absorb the culturaladvantages of other nations; in the other hand, due to influence of cultural imperialism, the presentsituation of our countries becomes more complicate. So we should pay much more attention to thisissue. Under the background, shown in this thesis, we should insist on the leadership of Marxismculture, enhance the confidence of culture, develop cultural property so as to maintain the safety ofour culture and make it prosperous. The thesis starts with the practice and theory of culturalimperialism, and tries to make the logic of it. The whole thesis can be divided into four parts:The first part shows us the logical relationship among globalization, cultural globalization andcultural imperialism. It is true that cultural exchange appears in the course of globalization, as wellas cultural imperialism.The second part starts with practice mode and Theoretical form. It is mainly about thehistorical development and development trend.The third part analyses the threat from cultural imperialism, and sketches our cultural conditionfrom its main part, continent and value.The fourth part is about the positive exploration of resisting cultural imperialism. It proposesthe measurements of how to insist on the leadership of Marxism culture, inherit and promotenational culture and develop cultural property and so on.
