With the development of the trends of globalization, China’s achievements inthe field of politics,economic and culture has attracted the eyes of the world. Moreand more foreigners want to learn Chinese to understand China and Chinese culture.Learning Chinese has gradually set off a boom in the world, and the Chinesegovernment attaches great importance to the cause of the international promotion ofthe Chinese. Under this background, Chinese international promotion strategy hasemerged and becomes our nation’s great cause. In the present, culture hasincreasingly become an important source of a nation’s cohesion and creativity aswell as the competition of comprehensive national strength.The Chinese government strongly supports the development of the Chineseinternational promotion, and spreads the Chinese excellent traditional culture to theworld. International promotion of Chinese does not only spread the language, buthas more commitment to the promotion of Chinese culture to meet the people’s needto understand China, and to enhance Chinese culture’s international influencetowards the goal of cultural power. Today, all the countries of the world are sparingno effort to promote the national language and culture, and culture seems to havebecome one of the important criteria for the competition of comprehensive nationalstrength. Peking Opera has a wide range of audiences overseas. Peking Opera canbuild the bridge of communication, which will deepen the awareness of people allcountries to Chinese traditional culture, promote the spread of Chinese in the world,this is to strengthen international cooperation and promote cross-cultural exchangeshas important strategic significance.Chinese international promotion has two important objectives, the promotionand dissemination of Chinese and culture, Peking Opera plays an essential role in the Chinese international promotion process. In this paper under the background ofChinese international promotion strategy and its strategic significance, choosingChina Peking Opera as the discussing object which is due to the Peking Opera has awide range of audiences overseas, loved by friends from other countries, and pekingopera as an important cross-cultural content, is also an important form ofcross-cultural transmission. Then this paper summarizes the overview of the PekingOpera spread as a cross-cultural content overseas,as well as Peking Opera’sinnovation and development. The article also raised effective ways and methods thatcan be taken during the international promotion of Peking Opera and is mainlydiscussed from three aspects: First, classroom teaching approach. Second, strengthenthe cultural quality of Chinese language teachers. Third, start the “National OperaOverseas Dissemination of Project” to combine the culture with market operationmechanism so that improve the ability of transforming and international influence ofChinese culture. Finally, the fourth part is the focus of discussion in this paper. In theforeign language classroom teaching process, cultural factors leading to theclassroom is an innovation and trying, which can stimulate students’ interest andpower in learning Chinese, also enrich the content and improve the efficiency ofclassroom teaching. Learning Peking Opera which plays an active role in learningChinese language and culture for foreign students, which is displayed from threeaspects: first, help to increase the vocabulary of students’ Chinese characters. Second,be conductive to students’ understanding the idiom vocabulary. Third, be conduciveto students’ understanding the Chinese culture, especially values and moral sense inthe traditional culture, Chinese history and literature and so on. Learning andappreciation of Peking Opera not only are requirements of the internationalpromotion of Chinese, but also the Chinese language course syllabus.All the countries in the world shoulder the historical mission to carry forwardthe excellent culture of their own nation. China’s culture has a long history whichcan be traced back to ancient times, particularly the “Confucian culture”. The moraland ethical concept in the Confucian culture is affirmed by many countries. Underthe environment for the development of the world’s cultural diversity, the world needs to understand China through the cultural bridge, and after thousands of years’development the excellent traditional culture also needs to be spread to the world.This provides helpful hints for the successful promotion of Chinese culture overseas,as well as makes efforts for the wider promotion and dissemination of the Chinese inthe world.
