This paper aims to research tombs which are located in Luoyang and Xi’an areasfrom the Late Eastern Han Dynasty to the Western Jin Dynasty. First of all, we dividethe structure of tombs and burial pottery with the typology method ofarchaeologytypology,and classify them by stages. Then based on this, unscramblingtheir developments and changes, comparing their similarities and differences,analyzing the reasons that lead to such differences. Further more, the paper givessome suggestions on how to distinguish the tombs of the Wei Dynasty.The main body of the paper can divided into five parts.Part one:Preface.It defines the time-space frame of this paper, and summarizes the achievementsand the shortages of the previous research.Part two: The analysis of the shapes of tombs.The shapes of tombs in Luoyang and Xi’an areas can be classified into fourcategories. At the same time, it also can be divided into three stages by finding outthe time-space distribution and the evolution law of all these kinds of tombs. In thispart, we summarize the characteristics of the shapes of tombs in each stage separately.And on the basis of this, compare the shapes of tombs inboth Luoyang and Xi’an areas,so as to summarize the different development situation of the shapes of those tombs inLuoyang and xi’an areas.Part three:The analysis of the burial pottery.The burial pottery from the tombs in Luoyang and Xi’an areas can be classifiedinto five categories. At the same time, it also can be divided into three stages byfinding out the time-space distribution and the evolution law of all these kinds of burial pottery. In this part, we summarize the characteristics of the burial pottery in eachstage separately. And on the basis of this, analyze the commonness, differences and theinteraction of the burial pottery from the tombs in both Luoyang and Xi’an areas, so asto summarize the different development situation of these burial pottery in Luoyangand xi’an areas.Prat fourth: The comparative analysis of both the shapes of tombs and the burialpottery.This part makes a comprehensive analysis of the shape of tombs and burialpottery in Luoyang and Xi’an areas from the Late Eastern Han Dynasty to the WesternJin Dynasty, including the similarities,the differences and also the reasons that lead tosuch differences. Meanwhile, it attempts to explain the different development situationof the shapes of tombs and burial pottery in Luoyang area. Besides, it gives somesuggestions on how to distinguish the tombs of the Wei Dynasty.Part five: ConclusionSummarizing of the research results and main viewpoints.
