Pottery pigs and pigsties are common funerary wares in Han tombs, which is the embodiment of “death and burial customs of life” idea in Han Dynasty. Xin Xiang City derived from Xin Zhong Xiang, which belonged to Huo Jia County, in the Western Han Dynasty, is one of the Chinese ancient civilization birthplaces with an important geographical position in Han dynasty. By viewing the existing archaeological data, there are not only a large number of Han tombs, the unearthed pottery pigs and pigsties are also very rich. This article collects and collates the information of more than 50 unearthed pottery pigs and pigsties graves from more than hundreds Han tombs. Through these analysises, in early and late Western Han Dynasty, the number of pottery pigs and pigsties unearthed in the tombs is less, single variety, artistic style is inherited those of the Qin dynasty. The number of unearthed pottery pigs and pigsties increased dramatically and the type was more variable due to development of production technology and strong demand. The earthy Eastern Han to late Eastern Han dynasty was the period that pottery pigs and pigsties experienced from a prosperity time to a recession time. With the large scale of development of the manorial economy, social life is stable and peaceful, types of pottery pigsties made a great progress, and with the social instability, the quantities and types of unearthed pottery pigs and pigsties had decreased sharply.
