The long march of the Red Army was a major strategic moving to the Northwest China. And the Red Army had a great part of time in our western minority regions. During1935and1936, the Red Anny marched to south Gansu twice. There, they stayed totally more than two months. And they got along with the Tibetans and the Muslims. So the study of the Red Anny’s national policies is worth to do.On the basis of infonnation from literature and field investigation, in this paper, there are basically including two parts of content:The first, the Red Army’s marching in south Gansu. Above all, there is a basic description of south Gansu in the1930s, including religious environment and national relationships under the rule of the Kuomintang. Then it is about the Red Anny’s march in south Gansu, including march course, and some great historic facts. Lastly it will introduce the Red Army’s relationship among the Tibetans and the Muslims.The second, on the basis of what have been introduced, discussing the Red Army’s national polices in south Gansu will be a most important part in this paper. The Red Army recognized discipline and physical act. They claimed equality, solidarity and autonomy among the Tibetans, the Muslims and the Hans, and respected their national habits, customs and religions. They also called on all nations together. The Red Army’s national polices are successful. Tibetans and Muslims in south Gansu afforded all kinds of assistance to the Red Army. And all things during this period are remembered up to the present.All in this paper indicate that the Red Army’s march to south Gansu was a great turning point in the Red Amy’s long march. And the Red Amy’s national policies in south Gansu was successful. Moreover, the study of this paper has some significance to a certain extent.
