Folk music, as one of intangible musical cultural heritage has long been valued by all social classes. With the emergence of widespread commercialization, the western cultural penetration into Chinese folk music is becoming increasingly popular, which is accountable for the fact that folk songs are becoming far away from its original appearance even though Chinese folk songs are, under the present educational system of present national vocal music, forming their own models. As a post graduate majoring in national vocal music, I am obliged to think over the present and the future of folk songs as well and explore means to conserve and develop national folk music. With the help of theory study and singing practice, I find out the inner relationships of local drama and folk songs and realize that folks songs can not return to its original appearance without the interference of local drama both in culture and in art. Inspired by this fact, this paper is devoted to the study on the relationship between Huang Mei drama, a local opera in China popular in An Hui province, and folk songs is prove that folk song can not sustain their life and freshness without the inspiration of local opera.
