As a famous philosopher and analysis aesthetician in20th century, Wittgenstein’s philosophical standpointinfluences the aesthetics. He presented a new concept of philosophical paradigm and system which provides anew applicable methodology for the spreading of postmodern thoughts. Wittgenstein’s concept of“aspect”appears in the second part of Philosophical Investigations. And this concept is as important asWittgenstein “forms of life”and “language game”.The showing of beauty is as fascinating as hisconcept“aspect”. The secrets of his aesthetics could be seen by elucidating his concept “aspect”. Why can’t wesee the beauty of all? What is hidden in the aspect behind the beauty?The infinite charm of beauty attracts us torelate the aesthetic topic and Wittgenstein’s concept “aspect”.Wittgenstein’s later philosophy should be grasped in a whole and macroscopical way. What he called “theperspicuous presentation”is the way to grasp his aesthetics. In his view the basic aesthetic means is“description”, that is, desscribing the objects of our aesthetic response in daily life. And this providesmethodological way to guide us to “see” and not to “think”. The correct method is to let the beauty play inour life freely. The aesthetic life shows in daily life, the real life is the aesthetic life.The perspicuous presentation is the way to expoud Wittgenstein’s concept “aspect”. From thedifferentiation between “seeing” and “seeing-as” in Wittgenstein’s visual esthetics, he criticizes the visualcentrism in traditional philosophy which associates “seeing” and rationality, then criticizs the resultingessentialism and dualism which looks on the world as a picture.Then through the analysis of the aspect ofbeauty in a perspicuous way, it comes to the conclusion that beauty is diverse.Wittgenstein doesn’t ask “what is seeing”, but asks “how to see”, that is, let “seeing” go back into specific language games to see what role it plays. Through Wittgenstein’s critics of referential theory and hisemphasis on communion, especially his greater emphasis on the publicity, practicality and diversity of the lifeforms, and through his focus on the the effect of practice, education and training on our way of seeing theaesthetic things, the conclusion that the diversity of beauty stems from the richness of life form, the meaning ofbeauty lies in its using in our practical life.There is nothing more “practical” than to learn how to live happily. Everything comes from life, and hasto go back to our life finally.So beauty is a dynamic developing concept linked with the forms of life, andbeauty is in our life. Pursuing the aesthetics which is directly related our life, and consciously resist theintrusion of metaphysics to human thought and life, the aesthetic life dealing with ethics could be achieved.
