The Research On Human Body Idioms In Vietnamese Language

In recent years, with the development of the research on human bodynouns, the idioms in the field are drawing much more attention. AmongVietnamese idioms, there are a lot of idioms consist of morphemes ofnouns about human body. This thesis aims to discuss these idioms withthe related theories of linguistics and cultural linguistics.The thesis mainly make a discussion from six aspects: Chapter oneis the review of the related researches in China and abroad, and also ashort intrduction to the purpose, significance, methods, steps, object ofthe research and the source of corpus; Chapter two is to divideVietnamese human body idioms from three perspectives: the source, thenumber of human body nouns and the number of words in human bodyidioms; Chapter three is to analyze the constitution of Vietnamese humanbody idioms consisting the morpheme constitutions, the structure types ofthem and the human body nouns, numerals and color adjectives in them;Chapter four analyzes the figures of speech used in Vietnamese humanbody idioms; Chapter five presents the cultural connotation of humanbody idioms from three levels: esthetic sense, community view andConfucian culture; Chapter six gives out a conclusion of the result of thisthesis.
