1990s Xue Heng School ideas gradually get the affirmation of academia, so the people who research it will continue to increase. Xue Heng School has not simply be regarded as traditional cultural conservatism, but has profound ideological able to use appropriate methods, the combination of traditional culture and Western culture, thought, and its essence, to its dregs. The slogan of the "Critical Review" magazine made clear they were saying:"On the academic study, explain the truth, advocate national treasures, and assimilate new knowledge, the vision of Chiang Kai-shek, the line criticism of the ministry." Xue Heng School members are dedicated to translate and introduce the thinking of the ancient western academic art, and modern scholars on the school as to oppose the May Fourth New Culture, carrying forward the Chinese culture to have any. They not only criticized for the universal theory of the the prevailing scientism but also criticized more effectively counter the slogan of democracy and science putting forward by the New Culture Movement. Therefore, this article will focus on the angle of reflection from the scientism Xue Heng School, the same time will discusses the concept of Xue Heng School of literary and artistic ideas. In Xue Heng School’s a lot of thought, there are direct to criticize scientism, and also are indirect to reflect on the contents of scientism,, most of Xue Heng School of Literary Ideas concept are from the indirect perspective to reflect on scientific doctrine.This article is divided into three parts:the first focuses on the understanding of science and scientism. There is no uniform fixed interpretation of the concept of scientism, according to their study, the researchers usually need to give a different meaning. The scientism first appeared in the West, the late introduced into China. This paper will summarize the development of scientism in the West and in China. The aim is to pave the way for the emergence of the second chapter of the anti-scientism scientism and Xue Heng School reflection background. The second part focuses on Xue Heng how to reflect the scientism directly. Babbitt’s New Humanism is Xue Heng School of the theoretical foundation and the fine traditional Chinese culture is Xue Heng School’s ideological weapon for the critique of scientism. In this chapter, we can understand the connotation of the new humanism, and fully appreciate respect of Xue Heng School for the traditional culture. The third part is to discuss the reflection of Xue Heng School for scientism from the indirect perspective. We can discover its critique of scientism and dissatisfaction from many in the literary thought of Xue Heng School, and the same time the reflection for scientism can also contributed to the formation of Xue Heng School’s literary thinking. According to discuss Xue Heng School’s reflection of discourse for scientism from the direct and indirect, we are able to have a better understanding for scientism and for Xue Heng School ideas,and all these can also help us have a better reflection of scientism now.
