The Study On Exegesis Of Si Shu Gai Cuo

Mao Qiling was a revolutionary character in the history of early Qing dynasty. He attached importance to textual research and started atmosphere on textual research. He advocated to demonstrate text with text and tried to give the initial meaning of the text. As a great thinker of Qing dynasty, Mao Qiling had a good stock of study of Confucian classics, Si Shu Gai Cuo was his last works on study of Confucian classics, it represented his highest achievement. It contains the essence of Confucian classics and his textual exegesis method.This paper researches Si Shu Gai Cuo by Mao Qiling from the angle of textual exegesis. Through the analysis of Si Shu Gai Cuo by Mao Qiling we dispute the mistake of The Four Books which is written by Zhu xi. So that summed up the characteristics and method of textual exegesis in Si Shu Gai Cuo. Its value has great importance in development of track of qing dynasty and the modern development of four books explanations.The full text contains five chapters:Chapter one:Introduction. Introduce Mao QiLing’s life, through his life experience and research experience analysis the background of writing Si Shu Gai Cuo. It contains both the direct reason of offering book to emperor Kangxi and Mao QiLing’s dissatisfaction to neo-confucianism. Finally the paper introduces the current situation of the study of Si Shu Gai Cuo, and described the research significance.Chapter two:The criticism to Zhuxi’s notation in Si Shu Gai Cuo. When Mao QiLing analysis zhu xi’s comment, he points out both mistakes and the cause of mistakes. So it provides reference for learning the four books.Chapter three:The textual exegesis method of Si Shu Gai Cuo. Mao QiLing criticized zhu xi’s mistakes through some method of textual exegesis.
