The Research For Response Sentences Of Interrogative In Lao Qi Da Yan Jie And Piao Tong Shi Yan Jie

Lao Qi Da Yan Jie and Piao Tong Shi Yan Jie are two textbooks for ancient Koreans tolearn Chinese. They were written in Yuan Dynasty.The two textbooks are in the form ofdialogue. Response sentences and interrogatives are linked together. Beside grammar,semantics and pragmatics, the research for response sentences must be related withinterrogatives. This article which researches response sentences in the two books is basedon syntax, semantic and pragmatic. Section one is about syntactic type of responsesentences in Lao Qi Da Yan Jie and Piao Tong Shi Yan Jie. According to the structure of theresponse sentences, it can be elaborate from two aspects. One is from the signs of thesentences: the first kind is the response sentences with signs. The second one is theresponse sentences without signs.Another is from the focus of the response sentences. Ifthe focuses are in the front of the response sentences, they can be called front-focusresponse sentences. If the focuses are in the rear of the response sentences, they can becalled rear-focus response sentences. If there is no focus, they are called side by sideresponse sentences. Section Two are based on semantic property. Interrogatives are theentries of the research. According to the category of the interrogatives, response sentencesare classified into four kinds. They all have their own characteristics. Section Three isabout the pragmatic function of the answer sentences. The analysis is based on the amountof information and attitude. Section Four is the sentences class which is based on responsesentences. They are state response sentences, doubt response sentences exclamationresponse sentence and pray response sentence. The complexity of response sentencedetermines its importance in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. The research of response sentences in Lao Qi Da Yan Jie and Piao Tong Shi Yan Jie can do something forteaching Chinese as a foreign language.
