College English teaching has maximum classes as a compulsory course, but its teachingeffectiveness in general is really time-consuming and inefficient. Common problems forCollege English teaching are students’ lack of the motivation to learn and teachers’ lack ofteaching emotional investment. I have been thinking about how to stimulate and maintainstudents’ motivation for learning English to improve the effect of college English teaching.Domestic scholars Yu Wenzhao puts forward360degrees incentive theory on the basisof the inheritance of motivation theory at home and abroad. The incentive theory includesself-motivation, incentives excited by external factors and Mutual incentive. Professor Li Zuchao uses Professor Yu Wenzhao360degrees motivation theory in the field of education. Iam inspired and apply360degrees motivation theory to the study of College English teaching.In view of the characteristics of the College English teaching, previous teaching practice andthe philosophy of361sports brand, the author puts forward the361degrees incentive theory.The one more degree stresses language learning environment. Language learningenvironment includes the physical environment and psychological environment. The361degrees incentive theory emphasizes that teachers regards the children as their own childrento create a favorable psychological environment of language learning for students. Thestudents are immersed in love from their teachers to have confidence in Western languageand culture. The article verifies the validity of361degrees incentive theory in college Englishteaching, by the experimental method, questionnaire, interview and puts forward concreteproposals on how to apply the theory.The main conclusions in this article are as follows. The article verifies the validity of361degrees incentive theory in college English teaching by the experimental method. Thecore idea of the361degrees motivation theory reflects the thinking of the student-centerededucation.
