With the gradual process of globalization and rapid development of computer networktechnology, many aspects of people’s life are being strongly affected by the Internet era.Traditional foreign language teaching also faces the impact of infinite opportunities andchallenges when meeting with this new environment of computer network. The currentresearch on foreign language teaching in China focuses on how to guide the combinationbetween them, that is, giving full play to the advantage of the information age and makingcomputer network become an organic part of the curriculum to meet the needs of thedevelopment of modern education and to promote the transformation from traditional CollegeEnglish Teaching to a modern one.The dissertation is adapted to the background and the development trend of CollegeEnglish Teaching Reform in China and the research scope is defined to the institutions ofhigher learning. The author selects a research object, Jiamusi University, to conduct anempirical investigation, evaluates its current situation of College English Teaching under thenetwork environment, summarizes the mismatches when combining traditional foreignlanguage teaching and modern educational technology, analyzes the causes of mismatchesfrom the perspective of Education Ecology and tries to find the ways to mitigate and eliminatethe mismatches. The research results can not only be a reference but also play acomplementary role in the teaching practice on current Foreign Language Teaching Reform inChina.The whole study is dealt with in a comprehensive research method by combiningqualitative and quantitative ones. First, qualitative methods are used to illustrate thebackground, purpose and significance of the dissertation, the current studies at home andabroad and some related supporting theories. Second, the difficulties during the process ofcombining network and College English Teaching and Learning are found out through themethods of questionnaire survey, collective discussion, in-depth interview and classroomobservation, based on the College English Teaching and Learning environment of theexperimental subject (Jiamusi University). Then the author summarizes the mismatches in thecurriculum integration, analyzes the causes of them through the theories of EducationEcology and proposes “Eco-Foreign Language Teaching”. Again, the author finds out therestricting factors from the construction of ecological environment and computer network teaching. And the author focuses on the problems of students’ anxiety in the network learningenvironment and sorts through the original text data to conduct a quantitative analysis. Finally,the author proposes the essence of the research by combining the theoretical hypothesis andthe classroom practice, which is the construction of College English Ecological TeachingModel under the environment of computer network. The strategies, such as schema thinking,implicit learning and emotional intervention, are brought into web-based teaching andlearning courses, which can enhance College English Teaching to enter a compatible,dynamic and healthy stage of ecological development again.The dissertation can provide the new empirical support for the study of College EnglishEcological Teaching under the environment of computer network, make a useful addition tothe existing studies at home and abroad, and contribute to improving the current quality ofCollege English Teaching in China.
