Taking Buddhist art, culture of Buddhist Mudra, dicoration of Mudra,structure of Mudra and design of Buddhist Mudra as the main content. In thethesis tries to clarify the relationship of Mudra’s modelling and connotation intwo ways,the culture and the dicoration ,from the theoretical and practicalaspects omni-directionally present the connotation of design of BuddhistMudra and the style. This paper is divided into five parts:The first chapter discusses mainly the cultural background of the study ofBuddhist Mudra, research background, and its basic contents and therelationship of Buddhist Mudra and Buddhist art ,the research significance andso on basic problems.The second chapter clarifies connotation of Dunhuang Flying Mudra,Gautama“Five Mudra”and the“Nine words Mudra”,and discusses the spiritualsignificance of these Mudras.Finally, come back to the culture roots.The third chapter analyzes aesthetic cultrue of decoration of BuddhistMudra in four ways,which are symmetrical,visual balance,bionic,and“Sunyata”.Emphasizes Mudra’s visual aesthetic perception through severalkinds of representative Mudra.The fourth chapter interprets structural characteristics of Buddhist Mudraby a way of seeing it as a whole“small world”. Analyzes Mudra’s visualaesthetic perception through the theory of Equilibrium, Eymmetry andEoordination.The beauty of the Buddhist Mudra is reflected in the uniquestructures.The fifth chapter presents designing elements of Buddhist art andMudra.Lists examples of contemporary design of Mudras. Symbolizes thesedesigning elements and combines its configuration with the connotation.Finally,emphasizes the artistic value of Mudra’s Soul.
