Exercise section is one of the most important parts of the language textbook. The qualityof exercise section in a textbook has direct influence on the textbook itself. As we all known,practice is the most important means to master the second language, without enough amount ofeffective exercise, learners cannot master the language well. Exercise section can also reflectsthe teaching point, principles and methods of a second language textbook. Most of the time onclass is used for exercise. So, a well-edited textbook can not only be convenient for the teachers,but also avoid much non-effective exercise. The quality of a textbook is much depends on theexercise section.The author chooses three of the six Korean High School textbooks Chinese I as the objectof the study in accordance with Korean 7thTeaching Basic 2007. From the view of elements andskills of the language, the author takes a comparative analysis on the content, exercise types andthe quantity of the exercise. The paper contains the following parts:Chapter one discuss the significance of the topic, foreign and domestic research, researchmethod and the main content of the research. Chapter two introduces the relative background.First is the theoretical background relate to the definition of exercise, psychologist Edward LeeThorndike’s Low of Exercise and the function of exercise in second language learning and theediting of exercise for textbooks. Second is the introduction of the research objective, mainlyabout the Korean 7thTeaching Basic 2007 and the choosing of the objective. The third chapteris the statistical analysis of the communicating skills exercise. Chapter four is the statisticalanalysis of the verbal elements exercise. Chapter five is the statistical analysis language skillexercise. Last part is Chapter six, the ending of the paper includes the analysis results from thethree Chinese textbooks, the summary of the Korean High School Chinese textbook edit and thepossible suggestions. The author hopes the paper could help the development of the edit ofKorean High School Chinese textbook.
