The relationships between Russia and China had been perfunctory in more than a halfcentury, plus there exist the differences in their political, economic and cultural spheres. All ofabove-listed make Russian students face with more difficulties in cross-cultural adaptation inChina, as compare with English, American, Japanese, Koreans students and students from SouthEast Asia. Here is the least number of the research works for today, what cover the difficultiesof Russian students in China in cross-cultural adaptation. The research works mostly elucidatethe problems in cross-cultural adaptation of European and American students in China. But theauthor of this work tried to throw the light upon the same specifics of cross-cultural adaptation ofRussian students. For reaching the aim, the author had investigated the main theories of cross-culturaladaptation, and then, according to the theories made questionnaire for the research work. We have checked four area of students` lifein China: the life conditions in dormitory, the social and cultural adaptation, the attitude to thestudying in University and the motivation for learning the Chinese language, the psychologicaladaptation. At least, after the analysis of interviews results we made a conclusion, which factorsprovide the difficulties of Russian students in cross-cultural adaptation in China. Survey showedthat students cross-cultural adaptation curve model does not necessarily have a U-shaped, ratherdepends on the individual’s character, its flexibility and achievement motivation, experience inliving abroad, native culture and new culture is the distance between the national policy features.Second, most of China Russian students encountered difficulties in cross-cultural adaptation,cross-cultural adaptation has a negative performance. Third, China Russian students cross-cultural adaptation difficulties because of health and living conditions, traffic order, publicplaces, values, cultural practices and Chinese language teaching. Fourth, about half of allRussian students living conditions are not satisfied, however, because the motivation is strong,self-willing to accept some of the difficulties. Fifth, the Russian students to adapt to Chineseculture, the difficulties will first go to school to seek help. Sixth, the difficulties encountered inChina will affect their enthusiasm for learning Chinese. On the basis of the analysis of surveyresults, I recommend the work of teaching and student management. Reduce cross-culturaladaptation of the coping strategies can be divided into three areas: school coping strategies, teachers’ coping strategies, students’ personal strategies.
