"The re-discovery of the warring-nations period" is an important part of the1940s scene of Kuomintang-controlled Section. This thesis is a side research of this. Through the discussing of the thinking of the Zhanguo Ce Clique, the historical plays of Guo Moruo and other works of this period, especially the observation of the correspondence of their ideology construction, academic research and historical works, this thesis analyzes the different views and transformation on the historical resources of "the Warring-nations Period", in order to reveal their intention to re-construct the spiritual character of the modern Chinese ethnic, repose the life and political philosophy, carry out ideological debates and compose writings of the era.This thesis mainly contains three parts. Using "the recurrence theory of Warring-nations Period" as a starting point, the first chapter discusses the national goals, ethnic spirit, personality training, cultural aesthetics and other aspects of the Zhanguo Ce Clique, analyzes their worship of War, Military and Force, then re-evaluate the Zhanguo Ce Clique on the discovery of the Warring-nations during war times. The second chapter deals with the historical research and plays of Guo Moruo, focused around the process of the integration of history and reality, as well as the glorification of ideal personality of Ren Yi and Xia Yi. Chapter Ⅲ is followed by the first two chapters. It demonstrates and describes other works of this period, which have reflected "the age of Warring-nations" such as the historical drama of Nie Gannu, the historical novels of Yang Gang, Liao Mosha and Feng Zhi. Through the observation of the theme about insinuation, reconstruction and re-foundation, it reveals the characteristics of mix of history, reality and future in these works, while as a reflection of the first two chapters.
