In recent years, researchers pay more attention to the development of theory of mind. The object of study extended from children to the various stages of life. New research paradigm and research methods continue to emerge, and relates to the potential relationship of the other mental functions and theory of mind. Found from existing studies, more theory of mind research focused on children’s stage, less focused on college students. Previous studies limited to the characteristics and relationship of subjective concept of happiness and social support about college students, for the relationship of college students’theory of mind and emotion regulation strategies, needs further exploration.This study describes and analysis the research related to emotion regulation strategies and theory of mind. On the basis of analysis the results of previous studies, raises the purpose of this study:①Prove up the characteristics of college students’theory of mind.②Prove up the characteristics of college students’emotion regulation strategies.③Prove up the relationship of theory of mind and emotion regulation strategies of college students.The subjects of this study are311college students, and this study is investigated in two researches. The first research, we analyzed the feature of theory of mind in college students by faux pas detective task and rending the mind in the eyes test. And explored the factors influencing the college’s theory of mind. The second research, we explored the relationship between theory of mind and emotion regulation strategies of college students.The result shows:①The score (theory of mind)of third year students is higher than first year, female is higher than male, arts students is higher than science students,city students is higher than rural students,only child students is higher than non only child students. ②The score of emotion regulation strategies’putting into perspective and acceptance dimensions, female is higher than male. The score of emotion regulation strategies’blaming others dimensions, male is higher than female, city students is higher than rural students③The college students’s refocus on planning and putting into perspective dimensions in emotion regulation strategies have positive prediction on theory of mind, and rumination dimension has negative prediction on theory of mind.
