Since the nineteen eighties, folk beliefs appear revival craze, and research on it is restored and developed. On2006, Maonan folk beliefs activities "FeiTao" was included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage protection list, caused more people to concern Maonan folk beliefs.The Maonan is one of the native nations in Guangxi. Folk beliefs of Maonan, which incorporate with Maonan peoples’daily life is a part of chinese folk beliefs, has both the individual character and a general character. Research on Maonan folk beliefs can help us to further the understanding of Maonan, and pass through the concrete and microcosmic study in a certain extent "With small see big", further understanding of chinese folk beliefs.According to the field works, this paper choose to borrow "Hope system" theory to comb Maonan folk beliefs. Overall understand the Maonan folk beliefs and explore the essence of it on the basis of combination of literature materials and field works, the paper pays attention to how do folk beliefs impact on individual believers, it is unlike the previous studies biased towards just a specific folk beliefs content, or more concerned about the impacts of folk beliefs on the macro aspects of economy and politics.The thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction part, elaborated the research background, research significance, carding of the history and status quo of research on Maonan folk beliefs and Nuo, explaining the" folk beliefs " and the " Hope system" theory. The second chapter introduces the basic situation of the Maonan Ethnic group. The third chapter analyzes how Maonan folk beliefs construct maintain and reconstruct hope. The fourth chapter analyzes the construction of Maonan folk beliefs that feature and wisdom. The fifth chapter is the conclusion, this paper try to research a high promotion.The article thinks that Maonan folk beliefs is Maonan peoples’"hope system", which in order to increase their own confidence, and construct, maintain or reconstruct hope, it is in fact "borrow energy to make more energy", that is to guide positive behaviors by good attitudes and strong spiritual forces, which reflects the folk wisdom. The folk beliefs has the ground color of rice culture and some ethnic characteristics due to the influence of specific historical and geographical environment. The Maonan folk beliefs runs parallel with science in the context of modern society, and they jointly contribute to the social harmony of Maonan areas.
