Since the mid-1990s, teaching Chinese as a foreign language as a careerdevelops rapidly, the number of foreign students is increasing accordingly. Thelearner’s needs are more abundant, business Chinese learning, which is based onthe purpose of business exchange, making big progress. However, the domesticbusiness Chinese Textbooks are unable to meet the needs of the market whether inquantity or species. Based on the real demand and the research on market, it needsfurther study on the testbook, especially the vocabulary research, which is thefundation of the language learning, to a great extent, the compiling of thevocabulary determines the quality of a testbook, therefore, this thesis aims to studythe vocabulary of business Chinese.Based on textbook available, this thesis try to establish the corpora, analysis thecurrent business Chinese spoken textbooks from the perspectives of vocabulary,vocabulary level, word class distribution and new words and intend to providereference material for the compilation of business Chinese vocabulary outline.Through the analysis, we conclude the general characteristics of current domesticbusiness Chinese spoken textbooks. We propose the following three suggestions onthe basis of these characteristics. First, according to the different stages of learning,the compilation of textbook should be paid attention to the vocabulary andvocabulary level control, trying to achieve incremental development. Second, weshould combine the business vocabulary and common Chinese vocabularyskillfully. Finally, we should pay attention to the introduction of the culturalbackground of new words’ note, and combine the language learning and culturecultivation in order to train the business Chinese learners to be a inter-disciplinarytalent not only with foreign language ability and interdisciplinary knowledge, butalso with the intercultural communicative ability to avoid and handle the culturalconflicts to better fulfill the task in business activities.
