Review And Comments On Different Edition Of The Border Town

From1934the first serialization in National News Weekly, until1957the finally edition in Shen Congwen Novel Collection, The Border Town has experienced four text-different editions:the early edition, the first edition, the revised edition and the complete works edition. From the first edition to the revised edition, it reflects the author’s endless pursuit of art; however, from the revised edition to the complete works edition, it reflects the adjustment and change that the author made to try his best to satisfy the requirement of new standard in language and ideology. No matter how the works were revised, the author’s literature concept of text-test was running through it, the text-test in Border Town also shows his continue and compromise in literature concept.
