Collaborative promotion is that the final individual performance of participants of prior collaborative recall is better than prior individual recall, that is to say, CI>U. However, research on the effect is less. There is also some divergence whether collaborative promotion exists. The current research started from the basic conditions that produce collaborative promotion, examined how the collaborative promotion was effected by the different study-test trials and ages.Four experiments were included in the research:Experiment1started from the size of the group and the patterns of retrieve to explore what conditions could produce collaborative promotion and laid the foundation for subsequent experiments. Experiment2was to investigate how the study-test trials affected collaborative promotion and provide reference for the conditions of collaborative promotion. Experiment3, from a development perspective, examined the development of collaborative promotion of different ages on different retrieve sequences and materials. It could provide empirical data to understand the collaboration promotion’s change with the trend of age. Experiment4was to discuss the generation mechanism of collaborative promotion. Through the creation of re-exposure, this experiment discussed the cause of the collaborative promotion and provided empirical data support for the action principle of collaborative promotion. The results were as follows:①No matter the group size was two-person group, three or four-person group, retrieve pattern was free recall or turn-taking recall, the collaborative promotion was present.②No matter study-test trials was one time, two times or three times, it could produce collaborative promotion. What’s more, the amount of collaborative promotion of two study-test trials was significantly higher than that of one time, but no differences with three times. There is no difference between one time and three times.③The collaborative promotion occurred in different ages on different materials and retrieve sequences. However the amount of collaborative promotion of all ages due to materials and retrieve sequences was slightly different. When the material was word and retrieve sequences was ICI, the amount of collaborative promotion of14and17years participants was higher than20years, other each age no difference. When the material was word and retrieve sequences was CII, the amount of collaborative promotion of17years participants was higher than20years. There was no difference among other each age.④Now matter how old the participant was, in ICI sequence, there was no difference between picture and word on the collaborative promotion amount. In CII sequence, there was also no difference between picture and word on the collaborative promotion amount.⑤The contribution of re-exposure to collaborative promotion was greater than cross-cuing.
