A Research About The New Words Translation Of The Chinese Course

In TCFL, the teachers, the teaching methods and the teaching materials are very important, especially for the comprehensive teaching materials. It’s not only the teachers’ main teaching tools, but also the focus of the students’ learning object. The Chinese Course is published for the undergraduates as a series of textbooks of Beijing Language and Culture University. The book is widely used at home and abroad. In the teaching materials of TCFL, it’s more representative, and worth researching. The pronunciation, the vocabulary, the grammar and the Chinese characters are four language elements in Chinese; and the vocabulary plays a key role among them. As the learner knows enough words, it’s equal to unlocking the door of the language. So this paper focus on the new words translation of the Chinese Course, as a part of the research about the foreign Chinese vocabulary teaching.The paper, besides the introduction and conclusion, is mainly divided into the following four parts. Firstly, with the teaching material and new words, there are two important parts about teaching material:the Chinese Course’s basic content and structure; the purpose and principle of the textbook. As for the new words, it is elaborated in terms of the distribution and the choice of the vocabulary. Secondly, in the analysis of the definition on the new words, the chapter is explained from the aspects of defining model, content and form of the words translation, which center on the theory analysis combined with teaching material examples. Thirdly, the key point is the problems, reasons and countermeasures about the new words translation of the Chinese Course. Finally, in the last part of the paper, our school’s scores of foreign students and several teachers have been surveyed, in order to further know this teaching material of the words learning and teaching situation interpretation.The main purpose of writing this paper is to attempt to research the new words translation of the Chinese Course in the hope that with this small paper, I can make a beneficial exploration, so as to help the actual teaching work in TCFL.
