Vocabulary as one of three elements in language system is the teaching point in any kind of language. Of course Chinese is also not exceptional; vocabulary teaching is an important link in Chinese teaching class. If compared the whole Chinese language system to a building, vocabulary is the material of construction. Without the accumulation of bricks, there are no skyscrapers. Vocabulary is the teaching point of Chinese teaching class, most of the Chinese teaching class starts from the vocabulary teaching. In addition, vocabulary is also the key point for students to preview the textbooks. Specifically, no matter class teaching or student self-studying, the vocabulary study is based on the vocabulary list. The vocabulary list of textbooks for English learner generally includes Chinese characters, Chinese phonetic symbols, part-of-speech tagging and English explanation. For learners, the quality of the vocabulary list work directly on their learning effect. As" Chinese hot "become a popular tendency in worldwide, all kinds of Chinese teaching textbooks appeared in the market, but some of them has big problems in vocabulary translation, some translation can make students have negative transfer by mother tongue. The problem in vocabulary translation is worth our concern and makes an effective change.The English translation part of vocabulary is to give students a hand on grasping the meaning of the new words, so the "translation" does not equate to "conveying information", because the relationship between English and Chinese is complex, you need to use a different translation strategy in different circumstances. If Chinese and English are not completely equivalent, English translation of vocabulary should be added fixed collocation, cultural customs and different language habits.This article concluded some typical problems through research on the textbooks used by universities in mainland, such as the" new practical Chinese ","practical Chinese","bridge","The road to success ".The meaning of setting vocabulary list in textbooks is establishing the correct semantic contact between learner’s mother language and Chinese. This paper is going to give constructive advices to the writers of Chinese textbooks.
