The outline of the Graded Vocabulary for HSK, which is drawn up according to the word frequency and the experts' suggestions, is the guidance document of vocabulary teaching in CAFL (Chinese as a foreign language). It contains 8822 entries, which approximately reflects the visage of Chinese basic vocabulary. It has important practical significances to investigate the meaning system in such scope in an all-round way. But so far no one has done this work indeed.According to the rules of the second language vocabulary teaching and practical experience and consulting the classifications of other dictionaries of meaning category, we make a list of adjectives in the outline of the Graded Vocabulary for HSK on the base of the theory of semantic field .The steps of drawing up the list are: first, the meaning groups are formed separately based on the meaning connection, and then a big meaning frame are made to present the whole of meaning and the consecution of organization in the vocabulary. The link of the small meaning groups is the connection of sameness, opposition and type. The big meaning frame is divided into nine categories, including small categories below (smaller sorts are included in the small categories). Meaning groups are at the bottom of the frame.The analysis of the meaning system of adjectives in the outline of the Graded Vocabulary for HSK indicates that: although the meaning system of adjectives in the outline of the Graded Vocabulary for HSK is complete roughly, it's not perfect. The following four main respects are the reflections: 1.The incompletion of the words in the outline of the Graded Vocabulary for HSK makes the meaning system incomplete. 2.The improper concurrent-type makes the meaning system incomplete. 3.The unreasonable confirmation of the part of speech results in the incompletion of the meaning system. 4.Considering the structure and arrangement, the incompletion of the meaning coordination between the forming morphemes and the related compound words makes the meaning system incomplete.
