Anxiety is a feeling of nervous, worry and fear. When people can’t achieve their goalor overcome obstacles, they will feel guilty, sad and fear. It is one of the mainmanifestations of children’s emotional disorders, and is universal in children psychologicaldevelopment. But now it is showing a rising trend. Children’s anxiety will affect theirnormal learning and life, and will bring a range of behavioral problems. Play therapy as apart of psychological treatment in abroad has been successfully used in social anxiety,emotional problems, behavioral and learning problems in schools.This study investigated anxiety children’s emotional performance and problembehavior with different demographic variables, and the influence factors of children’sanxiety by revising The Screen for Child Anxiety Related Emotional Disorders (SCARED)and Conners scale, and constructing a norm for children’s anxiety. And then selectedanxiety children to participate in play therapy to explore the efficacy of play therapy onchildren’s anxiety through case intervention.This study mainly used questionnaire and case study method, the results showed:(1) The revised scale included four factors: Somatization and panic, separation anxiety,general anxiety and social phobia, twenty-six items in total. For the aspect of reliability,internal consistency test was used and found that the SCARED achieved ideal reliability:the Cronbach’s α value for four sub-inventories and the overall are all above0.6. For theaspect of validity, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was used to test construct validity.The result showed that the scale had ideal structural validity. The norm is reliable and validand can be used as a standard for children to compare with or data for sequelas toreference.(2) The revised scale included four factors: Emotional problems, social problems,learning problems and behavior problems, twenty-nine items in total. The result showed that the scale had ideal structural validity.(3) Anxiety children with different demographic variables reported significantdifferences on emotional performance and problem behavior.(4) There was significant interaction between father educational level, the type ofchildren’s anxiety level and problem behavior.(5) Whether the one-child, parenting style, family atmosphere, the primary caregiver,educational attitude and parental expectation were influencing factors of children’s anxiety.(6) There was immediate effect of play therapy on children’s anxiety.
