| Both English and Chinese have the concept of the "appositive". However, they are quite different in structure. From the various subclasses of appositive construction, we compare correspondence between the two appositive constructions, and analyze the regularity, conditions, and causes to deepen the discussion on language law.This article is divided into five parts.The first part is introduction, a brief introduction to the purpose and significance of the study, research at home and abroad, the scope of the study, and research methods.The second part analyzes Chinese appositive construction. We divided it from modifier modified phrase, subject-predicate phrase and combinative phrase. In accordance with the nature of the composition, we divided it into four types, and qualify the composition which is able to enter the various types of structure. Finally, we briefly outline the marked form of Chinese appositive construction.The third part analyzes the English appositive construction. We distinguish it from the infinitive as a noun attributive, that relative clause, and no verb adverbial clause. In accordance with the nature of the composition, we divided it into seven types. After that, we introduce the form tag.The fourth part contrasts the similarities and differences between the two appositive constructions in the dominant type of structure, using occasion, word order, composition, and analyzes the causes of differences.The last part summarizes results of the research, and specifies the place to be studied in depth. |
