Tong Cheng School originated in the Kang Xi years of the Qing Dynasty, flourished from the late Qian Long and Jia Qing years, till The May4th Movement in1919, went to decline. It is one of the longest, largest and most influential schools in the history which was across the ancient and modern, stretched for more than200years. Pioneer Dai Mingshi spread Tong Cheng School’s literary thought in the world, then it was developed to the most prosperous by Fang Bao, Yao Nai and Liu Dakui. After that, Yao Nai’s students and Zeng Guofan improved and riched the literary thought even it is based on the tradition. It has been developed to the Opium War. Tong Cheng School is not only an artical school, but in the development history of poetry, it also has an important position and its poetic theory had a profound impact on modern Chinese literature.The Tong Cheng School’s article theory has been studied a lot, however on its poetry theory the research is relatively weak. This paper mainly studies the relationship between Tong Cheng School poetics and the academic in Qing Dynasty, using "Yao Nai’s four outstanding students" namely Mei Zengliang, Fang Dongshu, Yao Ying and Guan Tong’s poetics theory and creation as the research object and material sources, interpret the influence on the Tong Cheng School’s poetics acdamic statu in Qing Dynasty. During the "Yao Nai’s four outstanding students", taking Fang Dongshu and his Zhao Mei Zhan Yan as the main research object, we’ll do the careful textual analysis on his poetic theory. The first chapter of this paper mainly introduces the Tong Cheng School’s academic thought and the relationship with the academic status in Qing Dynasty, including two parts:The history evolvement of Tong Cheng School and the relationship between Tong Cheng School and the academic in Qing Dynasty. The second chapter mainly researches the Tong Cheng Poetry School and Tong Cheng School’s poetics, including two parts:What is the Tong Cheng Poetry School and its mainly standpoints. The third chapter mainly studies Fang Dongshu’s academic thought and poetics, including four parts:Fang Dongshu’s introduced life and his academic origin; Fang Dongshu’s works; Fang Dongshu’s main academic thoughts; Fang Dongshu’s poetics. The last chapter mainly analysis Mei Zengliang, Yao Ying and Guan Tong’s academic thought and poetics, and compares the similarities and differences.
