The Discussion About The Adornment Artistic Features Of The Carved Lions In The Qian Tomb Of Tang Dynasty

The hometown of the lion is not in China,but the Chinese lion art image is lovedand adored widely by the Chinese people once it was borned, which becomes a uniqueChinese traditional culture. It’s prevalence can not be separated from the influences ofthese factors,including policy,economy,culture,custom, concept, religious and so on,italso proved that the Chinese lion art image has the artistic aesthetic value,whichconforms to the aesthetic habit of Chinese people.As a part of the “lion culture”, thetomb stone lion plays a very important role in our country’s history. For thousands ofyears, the stone lion has guarded the mausoleum, drived the demon andmonsters,escortd for the tomb and finded a good sustenance and destination for spiritthoughts of people. This article consists of seven parts, including introduction，thebirth and development of the lion art image in our country,the emerge of lion tombsculpture,the background of tomb sculpture stone lion in Qian Tomb of Tang dynasty,the adornment art features of lion statues in Qian Tomb of Tang dynasty,the protctionof stone lion in Qian Tomb,the influence of the lion art image in Qian Tomb for latergenerations,Chinese and foreign.This article prompts that the birth and development of the Chinese lion art imagethrough the exploration that the real lion has been introduced into China, thus theanalysis shows the moral of Chinese lion art image.The Tang dynasty went through four periods, including the early period, the prosperous period, the middle period andthe late period.The prosperous period of Tang dynasty was a period of prosperity anddevelopment about policy,economy and culture, the stone lion of Qian Tomb has justbeen created in this period, which also becomes a milestone of the adornment art oftomb stone lion sculpture and a model of Chinese lion art image.This article focus ondiscussing the art features about adornment and modeling of stone lion in Qian tombthrough five aspects,including materials, thoughts, technique,skills and modeling,especially makes more detailed analysis for modelling. The modelling discusses theadornment art feature through five aspects,including the lion’s overall, head, body,legs and claw,tail, thus it shows that the stone lion of Qian tomb has the extraordinaryadornment art effect, it also fully shows the Tang dynasty era style.This article uses the research methods about the study of the theory andconsulting historical facts combinationed with on-the-spot investigation, striving toarouse people to protect and carry forward Qian tomb stone lion through the researchabout the adornment art feature of Qian tomb stone lion.
