| ABB-type adjective is a very common type of state adjectives,but there are few cognitive researches on modern chinese ABB-type adjective.This paper is divided into five chapters,which focus on description and interpretation,supplemented by quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis.Based on the theoretical basis of cognitive linguistics,this paper makes a systematic and in-depth cognitive study of these words.The introduction mainly reviews the research status of ABB-type state adjectives,and explains the research methods,corpus sources and research significance of this paper.This chapter also classifies the types of internal structure of ABB-type adjectives and other overlapping adjectives,in which ABB-type adjectives are divided into three categories:A+BB、AB+B and AABB-A.In addition,according to Modern Chinese Dictionary(7th edition)、Modern Chinese Standard Dictionary(3rd edition)and Chinese Adjective Usage Dictionary,all the overlapping adjectives are summarized and counted.In the second chapter,the cognitive semantic analysis of ABB-type state adjectives is carried out.Firstly,three internal semantic relations are summarized:degree meaning+morpheme meaning,morpheme meaning+extended meaning,morpheme meaning+degree meanin.Secondly,the Boundedness and Redundancy Interference of ABB-type adjective are analyzed and summarized.The Boundednessand Redundancy Components of ABB-type adjective can be perceived fromthe semantic analysis of it.The detailed analysis of the semantic characteristics of ABB-type adjective is the basis of cognitive analysis.The third chapter analyzes the causes of ABB-type adjective,and summarizes that the formation and development of ABB-type adjectives conform to therules of vocabulary development,the rules of prosodic structure development,and are driven by the iconicity of language structure.The analysis of the causesof ABB-type is a macroscopic understanding from the diachronic perspective.In the next chapter,the word formation of ABB-type adjective is analyzed.Based on the Principle of Order Iconicity,ABB-type places A at the beginning.what BB is followed by is due to the semantic choice between ABB-type.However,the metaphorical mechanism is hidden behind ABB-type word formation,which makes the unconscious cognitive experience map to ABB-type word for mation.The final chapter analyzes the reasons why ABB-type is retained in large numbers.Firstly,it is based on the experience basis of metonymy,which provides a cognitive basis for the apperception of ABB-type.Moreover,because of the rich part of speech of A,the grammaticalization of BB and the variety of ABB-type internal structure,it opens wide channels for ABB-type apperception.This paper is based on the semantic analysis of ABB-type adjectives,so semantic analysis is the foundation and focus of this paper.By analyzing the semantic relations and semantic characteristics of different types of structures,this paper finds out the internal mechanism of “A、B、B”"which constitutes ABB-type adjectives,and the internal reasons for the development and retention of ABB adjectives.This paper aims to use the relevant theories of cognitive linguistics and lexicology as support to make the content of each chapter deeper and deeper,and to find new ideas in the research process. |
