The Study Of Zhu Dexi’s Grammar Research

Dexi Zhu is one of the greatest grammarian who specialize in Modern Chinese Grammar during the20th century in China. He had made great contributions to the development of the study of Modern Chinese Grammar. To classify and summarize the studies which had done by an important grammarian is enormous useful. This study is not only focus on succeed the efforts which had made, but also pay close attention to Zhu’s shortcomings which can help us prevent going to the wrong direction in the grammar research.First of all. this study systematically sorted out all the studies which had done by Dexi Zhu to built the Chinese grammar system. The core book is The Handouts on Grammar, combined with The Studies on Modern Chinese Grammar Answers to the Grammar Questions, Collections of Grammar research.The Handouts on Grammar analysis, etc. Second, the study adopted the inductive approach and comparative method to analyse the Dexi Zhu’s grammar research, both in synchronic and diachronic aspect.Last but not least, the study which based on the review of20th century’s Chinese linguistic development addressed the contributions which made by Dexi Zhu, then point out the shortcomings of Zhu’s research and the further studies which made by other grammarians after Dexi Zhu as well.
