From December1941to August1945, Shanghai was occupied by Japanese. During these period, the culture market was supervised by Japanese militarism and Wang’s authorities which leading to no freedom of speech.. The whole Shanghai literature was in a low atmosphere. In that period, a kind of literature journal named Gujin,was created by Zhupu in March,1942,which was one of the senior officials in Wang’s authority. Because of the creator’s political background and writers’ complicated status, it was called "tractor magazine". It was ignored in the history of Chinese modern literature. Actually, Gujin has its own value, for it’s rich content and nobility spirit, which transmits their cultural interest. Officials in Wang’s authority, scholars and writers have many works posted in Gujin, which performance in a special way because of the influence of various powers. Through essays which focus on the history of China and Chinese literature, the writers express their own sensibilities and cognitions for the society and lives.The dissertation include four chapters. Chapter1aims at illustrating the environment of literary world in Shanghai in1940s, where Gujin was created. Chapter2try to analyze the editors’ idea and their experience of edition. Chapter3would pay attention to Gujin’s writers including their creation and the changes. Chapter4mainly elaborate the characteristic of works published in Gujin written by main authors. Most of the works have a complex uniformity, which will express the implication of writers.
