A Study On The Font Difference About Inscriptions On Bronze Ware

Focused on the font difference of inscription on bronze in Shang and Zhou Dynasty, this essay uses the Selection of Inscription on Bronze Ware in Shang and Zhou Dynasty as main material. According to the analysis demand, identify the analysis standard of fond difference, we made one-by-one sorting and arrangement with41187inscriptions on bronze ware, and used computer font support into a digital platform of font difference arrangement. Based on this platform, we did the researches as follows.Firstly, we selected the most frequently used90characters which reflect the interior Jinwen font difference appropriately, analyzed them concretely, induced the difference type, then concluded the whole difference status about inscription on bronze ware. Further more, we analyzed the reason of difference, and identified the existence level of the inscription on bronze ware in Shang and Zhou Dynasty interior unity.Secondly, based on the difference comparison of the mostly used90characters, described the new born and elimination status of the font difference in different dynasty in detail, and then revealed the development of inscription on bronze’s font difference and the reasons.Thirdly, paid close attention to the font difference of inscription on bronze ware caused by Duplication Avoiding, based on the previous research, we did a wholly investigation on the phenomenon of different writing stands for the same character on the same bronze ware, did some detailed analysis, listed all the Duplication Avoiding examples, and induced some features of inscriptions on bronze Duplication Avoiding.
