Features Of Business English Vocabulary And Its Translation Into Chinese

Business English is a very practical and professional language. At present, Business English is generally used in the following fields:the foreign trade, the investment promotion, the international tourism, the overseas investment, etc. In recent years, as our opening degree increased, Business English has been used extensively. In order to provide higher-quality service, the translator should continually seek after improvements.Business English vocabulary has its own peculiarities which can be generally summarized as the following:concentrated in technical terms, written form, conciseness and the change of common words in Business English. The translation criteria of Business English words also has its own particularities and this paper highlights the "accuracy principle" and "unity principle". And the Business English vocabulary can be divided into four categories:professional term, professional sets, acronyms, and common words. The meanings of the first three types of words are fixed and reflect few emotional feelings. The translator can translate those words by looking up the dictionary. As to the common words, which are flexible and have rich meaning, when used in different field or different context they may have different meanings. Therefore, those words are difficult to translate. In this paper, the author summarized concrete methods to improve the translation of Business English Words.
