With the development of economy, science and technology is playing a more important role and the translation of English for it also catches people’s attention. This paper focuses on the postpositive attributes in EST, as their great varieties are the key reasons for a lot of long sentences and complicated structures. All the illustrative sentences are selected from the book Color Management written by John T. Drew and Sarah Meyer. Through a study of the E-C translation of Color Management, this paper argues that the postpositive attributes in EST can be divided into five different types, including the prepositional phrase, the adjective phrase, the non-finite form of verbs, the attributive clause and the compounding form. What’s more, on the basis of classification, the paper studies how to apply inversion, division, combination and synthesis to translate the postpositive attributes in practice so that the translated version is faithful to the source version and the emphasis is put on the proper expression of the target language.
